From deputy to deputy
President Vladimir Putin has appointed Vladimir Kolesnikov deputy justice minister of the Russian Federation by presidential decree, the Kremlin press-service told Interfax news agency on Monday. Vladimir Kolesnikov has been employed by various law-enforcement bodies since 1973, and since 2002 he has been a deputy chief prosecutor of the Russian Federation under Vladimir Ustinov. At the end of June 2006, Mr. Kolesnikov was among a group of thirteen deputy chief prosecutors who tendered their resignations following a request from new Chief Prosecutor Yuri Chaika, who succeeded Mr. Ustinov.
