The process of charging ex-boss of Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky and ex-Menatep head Platon Lebedev, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. local time (8 a.m. Moscow time), has not yet started.
‘No charges have been brought. We’ve been sitting in the lobby [of the regional prosecutor's office. – Interfax] for an hour, together with officials from the regional prosecutor's office who haven’t been allowed into their offices, ' Yuri Schmidt, Mikhail Khodorkovsky's lawyer, told Interfax-Siberia.
According to Schmidt, security has been stepped up around the prosecutor’s office building.
The lawyer said that he and his colleagues acting for Mr. Lebedev have not yet been told exactly when the arraignment will take place. “We’ve been told: soon, soon”, he said.
According to Schmidt, both Khodorkovsky and Lebedev have already arrived at the prosecutor’s office.
